One of the key elements of yin yoga is that it works on the deeper connective tissues of the body such as ligaments, tendons, joints and fascia. There is minimal muscle engagement and poses are held for between 1 – 7 minutes.
It’s important to know the why and the how when teaching yin yoga. If you have a yin yoga teacher certification, you’ll understand in depth what you are teaching. Yin yoga is a practice in its own right and is a lot more involved than simply holding floor poses for time.
