Absolutely!
Our 200 hour yoga teacher training program is open to anyone who wants
to deepen their own practice, gain more knowledge about this ancient science or
go onto teaching. Yoga offers a complete
science in how to live a better, more healthy and holistic life and we are
happy to share this with anyone. A lot
of our students who sign up aren’t sure if they will teach or not but on
completion of the program many are inspired to go home and share their
knowledge with others. It opens a new
perspective for you and you learn so much about yourself along the way.
Inner Yoga 200 hour yoga teacher training program
includes a strong 90 minute vinyasa asana practice in the morning and a 90
minute yin practice in the afternoon. We
recommend that you have been practicing yoga regularly for at least 3 months
before coming to the training so you have a basic knowledge of the asanas
(postures) that we will be practicing.
However, if you are of reasonable physical fitness or practice Pilates
and have a willingness to learn then you are more than welcome to join. So much of the training is about attitude, a
willingness to learn and an understanding of your own body. A yoga teacher training is not like a
retreat, it is an intensive experience and you will be learning a lot of new
information on top of the physical practice each day. This requires a level of maturity and right
attitude.
Yes. From early on in the training program we start
student teaching so you get as much practice as possible. The practice teaching will be a mix of small
group situations and to the entire class.
We will also teach you how to sequence a class, project your voice and talk
about the ethics of being a yoga teacher.
We look at the business side of yoga so you can go out into world
equipped with the tools you need to start teaching straight away.
We like to keep our numbers smaller to ensure that
you have plenty of time with teachers and space to practice. It is also makes for stronger friendships amongst
the group, many of whom keep in touch for years after the training. Most trainings we have between 15 to 32
students maximum.
There is something magical about leaving your daily
life behind to completely immerse yourself in a yoga experience with
like-minded people. There is also a
transformation that occurs over the course of the training that results from
the intensive yoga experience. It is
through this that you truly get to experience the science behind the yoga. It allows you to deepen your practice much
more quickly rather than attending a training at home over multiple weekends
where you will still have the stresses of your life and family
commitments. That’s why all of our 200hour yoga teacher trainings are offered as intensives, so you can completely
dedicate yourself to having a regular practice and going as deep as possible. It’s also a great way to meet amazing people
from all over the world and see a new destination.
Practice yoga!
The best way to prepare for a yoga teacher training is to go to classes
with the aim of having a regular practice of at least 1 hour a minimum three to
four times a week. If you are building up to this please be mindful of injuries
before your training starts so listen to your body. It is recommended that you have attended some
yin classes before you come in addition to a vinyasa or ashtanga practice.
Our 200 hour yoga training course provides a strong
foundation that will enable you to sequence and teach safely and effectively
both a vinyasa yoga class and a yin yoga class. You will have a sound
understanding of how the body works so that you can help with alignment and
correct postures of your students. We will also cover in depth other aspects of
the yoga tradition including the history and philosophy. Each morning will
begin with meditation and pranayama. We
will look at a few different techniques so that you can choose those that work
for you and maintain these practices after you leave the training. As part of the yin training component, we
delve into concepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine learning about Meridians
(energy channels) and the 5 elements within the body. Not to mention lots of opportunity to
practice your teaching!
Inner Yoga has a core team of teachers who have
dedicated their lives to yoga teachings.
They come from all over the world and have a variety of backgrounds and
perspectives. There is one Lead Teacher
for Vinyasa, one Lead Teacher for Yin, an anatomy teacher, a yoga philosophy
teacher and a guest teacher for TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). By having a variety of specialist teachers
for different aspects of the yoga training you will experience a wide variety
of teaching methods and ideas.
A typical teacher training day begins with a 15
minute meditation, pranayama (breathing techniques) followed by a group morning
vinyasa practice. After the morning practice we enjoy a healthy brunch with a
two hour break. After the main break of the day we will gather for the theory
side of the training covering either anatomy, yoga philosophy or Traditional
Chinese Medicine. After a short
afternoon break we meet again in the yoga shala for asana workshops and
practice teaching. The day finishes with
a 90 minute yin yoga practice and short meditation. Dinner is around 6:00pm. There will be 1 day off each week after the
first week where you can explore Ubud, have a massage or rest by the pool.
Inner Yoga was developed with the idea of creating the balance between an active Yang practice (Vinyasa) and a slower more meditative Yin practice. Over the total training, the ratio is about approximately 60% Vinyasa focused and 40% Yin however we are always looking to balance one within the other. Our online yoga training program also focuses on asana, bandha, mudra, pranayama, mantra, meditation, anatomy and yoga philosophy.
Inner Yoga 200 hour teacher training program is an all-inclusive training. For your investment you will receive the following:
Inner Yoga is an accredited 200 hour yoga school with
Yoga Alliance. As such, you will be need
to attend 100% of the training to complete the required hours. However, we understand that things happen, so
if you do miss any of the training due to a valid reason (being tired is not
one) then we will work out a plan with you to still complete the course. There will also be some written assignments
and of course your final practical teaching exam where you will plan and
deliver a 1 hour yin class and 1 hour vinyasa class. Don’t worry there will be plenty of practice
teaching along the way so that you can confidently do this. Another important aspect in the training is your
attitude, willingness to learn the content and to demonstrate some
understanding of what we cover in the course.
The beauty of completing an intensive yoga course in
Bali is that you have the time and space away from your daily life that you can
dedicate to you and your practice. It
also allows you to work with and form connections with others on the
training. If you have a friend or
partner with you then it distracts from the depth of the experience of the
training. A training can be intense with long days that are sometimes
emotionally and physically challenging. We invite you to take the time for yourself
and maybe spend time with your friend or partner before or after the
training. It is very rare to be able to
fully devote your time to yourself for three weeks at a time.
Yoga Alliance is a U.S.-based membership program for yoga teachers. It is the premier organization for accrediting yoga teachers and yoga schools. Membership is voluntary and you can still teach yoga without joining Yoga Alliance, however as a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher you will be recognized as a yoga teacher who has received a certain standard of yoga teacher training at a Registered Yoga School. Inner Yoga is a Registered Yoga School with Yoga Alliance.
A digital 200-hour Certificate will be awarded on the successful completion of all course modules and approval of your online teaching exam. This certificate allows you to apply for your Yoga Alliance RYT200 Certification, which is recognized globally.
