Small groups, specialist teachers, and a genuine commitment to how you learn — not just what you learn.
Inner Yoga Training began with a simple belief: yoga education should leave people more connected to themselves, not more exhausted or overwhelmed.
Founder Georgina Watson discovered yoga during a period of personal change. Meditation introduced her to stillness, Vinyasa gave her a strong physical practice, and Yin Yoga showed her how strength and softness could exist together. As she spent more time teaching and studying, she saw students enter intensive training programmes already depleted, then push through demanding schedules without enough space to absorb what they were learning.
She wanted to create something different: a training where students felt safe, supported and genuinely known; where the pace allowed knowledge to become experience; and where Yin and Yang practices were treated as complementary parts of a complete yoga education.
In 2017, that vision became Inner Yoga Training in Ubud. The school has grown, but the intention remains the same: small groups, specialist teachers, and a learning environment that supports both professional development and personal transformation.
A complete practice needs both strength and stillness. A complete teacher learns how to honour both.
There are many yoga teacher trainings in Bali. The right school isn't simply the one with the most beautiful photographs or the busiest schedule — it's the one whose teaching approach, people and environment feel aligned with the way you want to learn.
Every training is limited to 18 students, giving teachers time to know your practice, notice where you need support, and offer feedback that's relevant to you.
Different subjects are taught by teachers with depth in their field, including Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, anatomy, philosophy, Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Dynamic Vinyasa and quieter Yin practices help you understand when to build strength, when to soften, and how to teach both with purpose.
The curriculum connects movement with meditation, pranayama, anatomy, philosophy and holistic traditions so yoga becomes more than a sequence of poses.
Living, learning and practising together removes everyday distractions and creates the consistency needed for deep study, reflection and community.
You don't only study what to teach — you practise sequencing, cueing, holding space and adapting yoga for real people with different bodies and needs.
Traditional teaching brought into conversation with anatomy, philosophy and holistic practice.
We don't see yoga teacher training as a performance or a race towards the perfect pose. We see it as a process of becoming more present, more skilful and more honest in the way you practise and guide others.
Our curriculum brings traditional yoga teachings into conversation with functional anatomy, modern teaching practice and holistic systems such as Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine. You learn the principles behind the practice, then explore how to apply them thoughtfully to different students, situations and stages of life.
Some students arrive ready to teach. Others come because something in their life needs to change — both intentions are welcome. Through supervised teaching practice, feedback and mentorship, you learn how to communicate clearly, create purposeful classes and hold space with confidence.
Georgina Watson is the founder of Inner Yoga Training. Her path began with meditation, continued through Vinyasa teacher training in Bali, and deepened through more than 500 hours of specialist Yin Yoga study. She has taught Yin Yoga across teacher trainings and retreats for more than 1,000 hours.
Georgina created Inner Yoga Training to offer the kind of education she believed students needed: balanced, personal and grounded in genuine care. She continues to shape the school's direction and speaks personally with applicants so they can make an informed decision about whether the training is right for them.
A strong training is built by teachers who know their subject deeply. Inner Yoga Training brings together specialists whose knowledge complements the wider curriculum.
Our residential trainings take place at Azadi Retreat on the edge of Ubud, surrounded by rice terraces and tropical greenery. Stepping away from normal routines gives you the space to focus fully on your practice, your learning and the people sharing the experience with you.
Accommodation, plant-based meals and the daily training programme are brought together in one setting, so instead of managing transport, meals and schedules, you can settle into a steady rhythm of practice, study, rest and connection.
Ubud has long attracted people interested in yoga, wellbeing, creativity and Balinese culture. Its quieter inland environment supports the reflective nature of teacher training while keeping you connected to one of Bali's most established yoga communities.
Whether you're preparing to teach, expanding an existing qualification or creating space for personal change, there's a different entry point into the Inner Yoga journey.

We honour yoga's roots while helping students understand how traditional teachings can be applied responsibly in modern classes and daily life.
Training in Bali comes with a responsibility to approach the local culture, community and environment with humility and care.
Graduation is the beginning of a teacher's development, not the end. Reflection, practice and continued education remain essential.
